Peninsula Co-op Community

Peninsula Co-op is very proud to contribute to the communities where we do business through our Community Support Program. Each year we donate a portion of our profits back to the community, in addition to the annual membership rebate. In the last year, our Community Support Program is proud to have given back over $370,000 to more than 200 local charities, organizations, youth groups, student awards and community projects. We were represented at over 50 community events which ranged from fundraisers to sporting events, children’s festivals and agricultural fairs.

In partnership with the Zone at 91.3, we collected over $8,800 in cash and gift cards and more toys than ever before in the annual toy drive benefiting the Christmas Giving Network. Here is a link to the video from the event: http://www.thezone.fm/2016/12/16/toy-drive-2016.

September 2016

September saw the long awaited grand opening of the Keating Elementary School playground. Just over a year ago we donated $30,000 to the school’s PAC after money allocated for the new playground was stolen. The new playground looks fantastic and it’s great to see kids enjoying it again.

The Victoria HarbourCats were ‘moving ahead,’ throughout their 2016 season, and we ‘gave back’ to the Victoria Youth Empowerment Society with a cheque for $585. For every HarbourCats home game stolen base throughout their season, we donated $15 to this wonderful organization. Well done HarbourCats.
