1977

·         Opened doors as a warehouse Co-op

 

1980

·          Changed from warehouse to conventional Co-op

·         Opened a one lane two pump gas bar at  the Co-op/Keating X  Road location

1981

·         New focus on marketing and value added program

·         Our first newsletter, the Peninsula Co-op Commentator

1982

·         Upgraded Keating Gas Centre

1983

·         Implemented bonus dollar program in Food Store

1984

·         First year we had a positive bottom line

1986

·         Obtained  supply for Save-On Gas site

·         Introduced a fresh baked department

1988

·         Made initial purchase of Save-On Gas

·         Made our first cash payment to our members

·         Added 3,000 square feet to our existing Co-op 

        store for non-foods/hardware

·         Added Lawn and Garden area

·         Sales exceeded $10M

1990

·         Made second purchase with Save-On Gas – Retail Commercial  

Cardlock and Car Wash on Keating X Road and Oldfield Road

1991

·         Made third purchase of Save-On Gas – Wilkinson Road site

·         Earnings of $1M

1992

·         Exceeded $20M in sales

·         Changed membership cost from $100 to $25

    

1993

·         Started Home Heating Fuel division

    

1994

·         Added Deep Cove and Nanaimo sites to Save-On Gas

·         Purchased Brentwood Co-op location

·         Purchased 6.8 acre at Keating/West Saanich area

1995

·         Changed Brentwood Automotive site from Shell to Co-op

·         Exceeded $30M in sales

·         Added Duncan site to Save-On Gas

·         Earnings of $2M

 

1997

·         Major renovation to our food store

·         Added Sidney to Save-On Gas

·         Major renovation to Deep Cove Save-On Gas

 

1998

·         Expanded store warehouse and added office for Administration staff

·         Brought Save-On Gas and Co-op together

1999

·         New Co-op Gas Bar site in Langford

·         Keating Gas Centre major renovation

·         Cardlock access in Sidney

2000

·         Exceed $50M in sales

·         Earnings of  $3M

2001

·         Sales exceeded $63M

·         Earnings of $3.6M

2002

·         New Co-op Gas Centre and Convenience Store on Millstream Road

·         Brentwood Bay Gas Centre major renovation to include Touchless Car Wash and new convenience Store

·         Royal Oak renovation and name change from Save- On Gas to Co-op

·         Earnings of $4M

 

2003

·         Purchased Duncan Canada Avenue property

2004

·         Sale of Nanaimo Save-On Gas to Mid-Island Co-op

·         Duncan renovation and name change from Save-On Gas to Co-op to include Touchless Car Wash and new convenience store

·         Cardlock renovation and name change from Save-On Gas to Co-op

·         Earnings  of $4.7M

2005

·         Pay Bay renovation and name change from Save-On Gas to Co-op to include Touchless Car Wash and new convenience store

·         Wilkinson Road renovation and name change from Save-On Gas to Co-op

·         Sales exceed $90M

·         Earnings of $5M

2006

·         Gorge Road renovation and name change from Save-On Gas to Co-op

·         Sidney renovation and name change from Save-On Gas to Co-op

·         Acceptance of Co-op member numbers at all Save-On Gas sites

2007

·         Deep Cove renovation and name change from Save-On Gas to Co-op

·         Purchased Mill Bay property

·         Sales exceed $100M

·         Earnings  of $8M

2008

·         Sales exceed $115M

·         Added Duncan Save-On Gas and Trunk Road

·         5% rebate for 20 consecutive years

·         Pay out of all Preferred shares to 70 plus years

·         Earnings of $10M

2009

·         Sales exceed $137M

·         Continued growth – petroleum +7% and food +6%

·         #1 petroleum market share in Victoria and Duncan

·         Earnings of $12M

2010

·         Sales decrease to $135M

·         Strong member growth, +40,000

·         Mill Bay opening in September 2009

·         Earnings of $8M

 

2011

·         Sales increase to $153M

·         Continued strong petroleum sales

·         Strong membership growth +50,000

·         Mill Bay – very successful

·         Acquired Triangle and Cowichan locations

·         Upgrade Cowichan to Co-op brand

·         Earnings of $8.6M

    

2012

·         Sales forecasted to be $170M

·         Continued strong petroleum sales

·         Strong membership growth to +56,000

·         Board election process evolves to mail-in process

·         Wale Road Gas and Convenience Centre opens in November
