Board of Directors

The Co-op Board of Directors is elected by the membership and is responsible for directing the activities of the Co-op according to by-laws and co-operative legislation.  The Board establishes the mission of the Co-op, formulates and implements policy, supervises and appraises the General Manager and Directors serve on a number of sub-committees, always remaining accountable to our membership.

The Spring Peninsula Co-op newsletter, The Commentator, extends an invitation for  nominations for the Board.  Board Directors are elected by a democratic membership vote.

2013 Election of Directors will be conducted by mail-in ballot.

Board Member Resigns

After nearly ten years of service as Director with Peninsula Co-op Cathie Ounsted will be ending her term early on January 30, 2013.  Board and Management would like to thank Cathie for her many years of support and contribution to the Co-op’s success.  Ms. Ounsted served on several of the Board’s Committees over her tenure including Community Relations, Finance, Planning and Development, Nominations, and Executive and Governance.  Peninsula Co-op wishes Ms. Ounsted all the best as she continues to serve many of our members in her role as Councillor on the  Central Saanich Council. 

Ms. Ounsted’s term was to expire in June 2015; with her resignation eight Directors remain on the Peninsula Co-op Board.  Ms. Ounsted’s vacated seat will be filled in the upcoming 2013 Director Elections.  In the interim, the existing 8-member Board will continue its oversight and governance activities on behalf of the membership.
